Germany started to transport their troops through Hanko in January 1942. In summer 1942 they began to build a transit camp in cape Tulliniemi in Hanko. German soldiers usually spent a few nights in the camp, waiting for transport to a short vacation home in Germany.

Qui est Hanko Guide - le/la Doer
I work as local guide in Hanko. I am fascinated by the history of the place, were many young German soldiers spent time during their travel to vacation in their homeland, and the back to the northern from in Finnish Lapland. The remains of the baracks, built 1942 can still be seen, but for how long?
