Au programme

Our nature walk takes you into the ancient woods along lakes and mystic mires. The forest we see belongs to the oldest forests in Lapland. You learn about arctic nature, its plants, birds and other animals.

Upon arrival you get to know more about our home and lifestyle in the Arctic where bush craft skills are part of everyday life. This place is tranquil; we even cannot see the lights of our nearest neighbor. During the walk we do birdwatching and plant identification. If we are lucky, we might see e.g. Siberian Jay, Pine Grosbeak and Capercaillie.

You also get to know arctic super food: berries and fungi. In August and September you can even try your own gathering skills. We end the walk with open-fire coffee/tea and local snacks in our kota.

Qui est AT NATURE - le/la Doer

Our work and hobbies have been related to the nature of Lapland for more than 15 years. We founded AT Nature for our passion for arctic nature. In our opinion nature activities can make us happier and healthier in today’s busy world. Our mission is to introduce arctic nature and its benefits to nature lovers around the world in small groups (2-6 people).

We are the first company in the Inari-Saariselkä region to whom Visit Finland has awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland label. Besides, we have the ECEAT Finland (European Centre for Ecological and Agricultural Tourism) certificate.

Ce dont vous aurez besoin

* Get dressed by weather and wear preferably rubber boots or waterproof hiking boots (for mire sections). We walk about 3 hours.
* We highly recommend you bring your own camera and/or binoculars.
* Mosquitoes and blackflies are most abundant from midsummer to mid-August. If necessary, we borrow mosquito hats for you.
* Children must be accompanied by a parent.

Terhi was showcasing the experience virtually at a Visit Finland/Visit Oulu/Doerz webinar where we had loads of travel operators from central Europe getting to know Finnish travel opportunities.

Terhi did awesome job! As a persona I think Terhi is warm, easygoing and pleasure to hang out with. Recommended!

Thank you for a very nice and personal virtual experience. I learnt a lot about nature, animals and living in the arctic conditions. Guidance was professional and very friendly.

When I visited Finland many years ago, there was a hustle and bustle of travelling around in a few days and trying to capture all in. We didn't get to see as much of the wildlife as we would have liked too.

When seen the opportunity to visit Finland online arose, I jumped at the chance as it is a beautiful country. I choose the artic wilderness experience with AT Nature because it explained all the areas to visit and the price was very good. I got to see parts of Finland I haven't seen before and The wildlife.
It is the best online show I have ever seen. Terhi explains everything before and during the experience and Terhi was a brilliant hostess. Between each video there was a small quiz to add to the experience and to help learn more about Finland and the wildlife.
It is an experience I would like to show my family. It was truly enjoyable.
I would highly recommend the wildlife experience with AT Nature.

This was my first ever online experience, so I was not sure what to expect. And it turned out I really enjoyed it! Terhi was a wonderful host, so knowledgeable, friendly and authentic. She did her best to make the experience interactive, which was nice. I learned a lot about arctic animals and we got some tips on how to survive as humans in the cold. Videos were also shown and you could tell that they were produced with very high quality. There were some technical issues in the beginning, but they were resolved very quickly and the rest of the experience then went smoothly. Overall, I would definitely recommend taking part in this online experience as a sneak peek into your next holiday in the arctic!

I got to learn a lot of new things (about animals mostly), even though I'm living in Lapland as well! So a good learning experience in nice winter landscape :).
