A local historical re-enactor Harri Alatalo, the other owner of the local Krepelin Apartments (krepelin.fi) takes you to an hour-long walk to the town center wearing a suit made in the 1810s style, and tells you about how and why the city was found here and how the local people lived in the 17th to the 19th century.

The Krepelin house at Läntinen Pitkäkatu 8 is my childhood home, but when I turned twenty it was time to see the world. And I did. But as I later realized that it was our grandfather's father, who established his family in Kristiinankaupunki in 1910, I decided it was my turn to take care of the family business. This lead me deeper in researching the local history so much so that I've now become a historical re-enactor, appearing in different city events in period clothes.
