Have you dreamed of gravel road cycling on the shores of Lake Saimaa and in the countryside? At the same time, you concretely experience the proximity of the eastern border. Embark on an unforgettable bike ride where the guide will lead you to the area route and interesting stories!

We cycle in the rural and archipelago landscapes of the two cities, sensing the biodiversity of Lake Saimaa at the same time. Along the way, we will experience the sandy beaches of Lake Saimaa in all their glory and get to see life in rural areas and hear stories about its history.

CONTENTS OF THE BIKE TOUR

We will meet in the beautiful harbor of Lappeenranta, where you can enjoy your morning coffee / breakfast and feel the harbor atmosphere. The route runs in a rural landscape right next to the eastern border. After a day of cycling, we relax, eat well and enjoy a lively summer evening in Imatra. Imatrankoski will crown Imatra's visit. On the second day of cycling, the route runs partly near the shores of Lake Saimaa and we get to enjoy the magnificent scenery.

Our guide on the tour will be Juuso Jaatinen.

CRUISING SPEED

You can consider a suitable travel speed for your group beforehand, e.g. 15-20 km/h, or 20-25 km/h.

The founder of Discover Saimaa is Taru Kaljunen. Taru is from Imatra, on the shores of Lake Saimaa. "The nurse's work took me to the metropolitan area, where I spent 20 years. The nature experience training gave me the enthusiasm to start my own company, Tarude Travels, which took me to the French Alps and the Italian Dolomites amongst ski hiking". Coronavirus drove Taru back to her hometown. Love to homeland and the enchantment of Saimaa were the key factors behind the creation of Discover Saimaa. What would be a better place to take nature tourism than the Saimaa region.

We listen our customers with a “sensitive ear” and fulfill their wishes whenever possible. You should ask for customized tours and events, as your wishes will probably come true!

INSURANCE

The tour operator has a liability insurance that covers the possible damages caused by the company's operations during the trip. The customer must have his own travel and accident insurance.
