Au programme

The tour begins with a fascinating explanation of the history of Rome and the systems used to raise up the buildings of the ancient city.
I will accompany you to explore a special "catacomb" and discover different underground landscapes.
Access to the cave is done via a dirt path from the city. Ten minutes walk.
Enjoy the great feeling that comes with discovering new archeological sites, nothing beats the excitement of hands-on archaeology.
Proper equipment is essential for a descent: helmet with a headlamp and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty will be provided
You’d be amazed at how much you can learn in few hours and you’ll be excited as I am, when the head of the archaeological Superintendence ask me to investigate areas of human activities buried hundreds to thousands of years of sediment
So, let me say three key words: helmet, light and … adventure!

Qui est Marco - le/la Doer

I am the founder of the Sotterranei organization in Rome and have been studying the basement of my city for about 25 years.
I also organize courses in speleo archeology and I thought about this experience to make it clear to those who are not lucky enough to live in Rome, what it means to do the Speleo Archeologo.
For the experience we can be either I (Marco) or Giuseppe or Annalisa. All speleo archaeologists for many years.
