During the experience you get to catch, prepare and grill your very own whitefish on a skewer and enjoy it in the cultural environment of Kukkolankoski rapids. Local fishermen will guide you in trying dipnetting and tell stories about their age-old heritage.
You will get to know the traditional fishing culture of the Torne Valley and familiarize yourself with cooking fresh organic food. You will have a unique local culinary experience in the gorgeous natural surrounding of Kukkolankoski rapids.
The traditional fishing culture of the Torne valley has a status in the national listings of intangible heritage both in Finland (2017) and in Sweden (2018).

We are a group of fishermen who are passionate about our own local traditional culture. We are proud of this tradition and we want to share it with you. With us you can have a peek at the world of dipnet fishing and you will see how we appreciate the whitefish of the river and how we cook in the traditional way. We will tell you about fishing, the old buildings and obviously the fish - after the experience you will know the essence of the Kukkolankoski rapids dipnet fishing tradition.

Make sure to wear warm clothes or according to the weather. Proper shoes are important. Trying dipnetting is not suitable for children under the age of 12.
Minimum size of the group is 10 people. If there are less who have made a reservation, we will cancel one day before.
